Newspaper birthday #1

My banner for the 140 years of the newspaper Il Piccolo that's now hanging from the facade of Trieste's Town Hall.

The background of the illustration shows the coastline of Trieste with its port with the front page of the first edition of the newspaper over the land.
Two readers try to catch copies of the papers scattered by the Bora, the town’s famous strong wind. They are watched by Marco, the penguin that used to live in the town’s aquarium and could be seen often taking walks around the port watching the humans exactly like that. When Marco arrived in town in 1953 brought by a merchant ship he was the news, and yet he watched us, and for this reason I gave her (after her death it turned out is was a girl-penguin) a special place in the illustration.
