For the 140th of the newspaper il Piccolo I was asked to design a set of celebratory illustrations, one for the celebratory stamp (yes, an actual stamp minted by the Italian Post Office), one huge banner to hang from Trieste’s Town Hall and a cover illustration for the front page of the day of the anniversary.
The Bora, the tipical wind of Trieste scatters copies of the newspaper from the ages as the penguin who used to be a fixture of Trieste’s seafront watches the readers trying to reach them.

The authorities, the editor and deputy editor of the newspaper and the head of stamps of the Post Office officially mark the first stamp.
